What are the best free dating sites on the web?

Looking for a site that actually works. I have tried meeting women at the grocery store, church, park, etc. It just seems to me that there should be more women out there than I am seeing. I want to give the internet a try. can anyone advise please?

1. I've heard of success with plentyoffish.com but haven't tried that one myself...also okcupid.com (i think it's free). Some people even have luck on myspace.
2. I have yet to find any that are free and there are a lot of dating sites out there. It's very confusing and some of them if you do the so called free trial you can see your messages and who is contacting you but you can't contact them. I was on this one that during the free portion of it I was being contacted all the time but when I paid to join they all stopped and no one ever replied back to me it was a total scam.

7. Many quality dating sites are not 100% Free. If you try wealthychats.com, you will love it. Free members can view photos and send emails to others, and even chat. Although some of their featurs are for paying members, I believe free members can get enough things there. And the most important, members on this site are quite quality. Non-serious members can never live on this site.
