What do shy girls usually do when it comes to guys and dating?

Shy girls usually don't talk to guys they like or find attractive. I'm curious to know for those who are shy or really shy. Do you ever end up with a guy you like at first sight or do you end up with someone that you are really close to and able to talk to, kind of like a best friend or not even, someone that is not appealing but you're able to hold conversation?

2. i am only shy at first and usually get to know people and then i am not so quiet anymore..but if i see a hot guy in the hall or in one of my classes and he doesnt talk to me first or i have some logical reason to talk to him then yeah i usually i have to forget about him....then guys i dont like that i have classes with and they constantly talk to me and so i get to know them a little better end up asking me on date but i dont like them so i say no and then i am all alone lol....but guys have to come up to me or we have to have a mutual friend or else i dont persue them because i am not outgoing enough to talk to them...i hate it!
3. well. you may think someone's shy, but they're not. i'm reallllllly shy around new people and espesialy guys. around my friends im loud and fine. but when i get to someone i dont know, its diffrent. usually when i meet someone new, i wait for them to talk to me first. when it comes to guys i normally dont think they're that into me (low confidence). so when they talk to me first and show me they actually want to be around me, im more open with them.
