Dating the Shy Guy?
I've just stepped back into the dating scene, after taking a year off, to re-coup after dating someone for 5 1/2 years. Recently, I met a guy, through friends, and we've seen each other a couple times, but always with our friends. He's super nice, hard-working, intelligent, and really shy. The first time we met he gave me a hard time for giving some guy the time of day. But after then, he's been nice and somewhat conversational. He seems very interested, but I'd like to stop seeing him through our friends. I'd like to get to know him on a personal level. But I've never been the girl to make the first move and I don't know what the waiting period is to see if he calls.

- If he is the shy type you are going to have to step out of your comfort zone and be the one that initiates things. He's probably waiting on you to signal that you are interested. Just go for it, call him up and ask him to do something. Play sort of casual so that the pressure is off and see what happens.
- If you can't ask, tell a mutual friend to pass on the fact that you are interested. It may seem a bit juvenile, but better that than just pass up an opportunity.
