are shy guys screwed when it comes to dating?

I am so shy and I like this girl, and even though I told her I liked her, all she said was aww and hugged me. But anyways, do you think an outgoing girl would go out with someone who is shy? I do not know how to ask her out and I dont think I will be able to initiate a lot of things...are shy guys basically screwed when it comes to having a girlfriend ?

You're gonna need to grow a pair and make the moves at least most of the time though once you are on the date or in the relationship you should relax and just try to act natural, and if you feel like it's a good opportunity to (kiss, hug, makeout, whatever) then go for it. sorry if i was a bit blunt.

5. being shy definately makes it harder but it by no means makes it impossible. If your unhappy with the fact ur shy maybe u could put urself in more situations where u have to talk to people in order to build up your confidence. get a job in a bar or a shop or something.
6. No, shy guys aren't screwed when it comes to having girlfriends. I think she would go out with you if she knew more about you. Because she gave you a hug (and said awww), she thinks you're cute. She probably should know more about you, and you about her. You could call up a friend who knows one of her friends, and have your friend set up like I dunno, a bowling game (or something like that), where she and her friend would show up and you and your friend would show up.
